Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Luxury & Lifestyle Collection, joined CAI Investments, key stakeholders and local officials on Friday, May 13 for a ceremonial groundbreaking event to mark the progress on its new hotel in Reno, Nevada. When it opens in late 2024, the new Kimpton in Reno will become the first newly constructed non-gaming hotel built in the city. With a prime location in the heart of Downtown and across the street from the Truckee River and Wingfield Park, the hotel will become a beacon for boutique hospitality in the “Biggest Little City in the World.”

Owned by CAI Investments, LLC, a Las Vegas-based real estate firm, the Kimpton in Reno will outfit approximately 16 stories of a 20-story new-build, multi-use tower and feature approximately 270 sophisticated guest rooms. Obermeier Sheykhet Architecture will serve as the architect for the property as well as the accompanying approximately 55,000-square-foot office space and high-end residences. The hotel will feature several exciting amenities such as four unique restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool, day spa, fitness center and approximately 16,000 square feet of meetings and events space. As with all Kimptons, beloved amenities and services such as morning coffee and tea service, evening social hour, “Forgot It? We’ve Got It!” program, in-room yoga mats, complimentary bicycles and pet-friendly policies will further enhance the guest experience.

Referred to as “America’s Adventure Place,” Reno sits alongside the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada mountain range and offers close proximity to the outdoor adventures in Lake Tahoe and the cultural and entertainment activities in downtown Reno. No longer just known for its gaming and nightlife, Reno has emerged as a hub for technology companies such as Tesla, Apple and Google, adding a new moniker as “The Next Silicon Valley.” The city’s downtown neighborhood, where the hotel will be located, is experiencing significant growth and revitalization, particularly with the development of the 20-block-long Reno Neon Line District. The new Kimpton hotel will offer guests an ideal location to explore and recharge all that the area has to offer.
